FAQ'S About Bikram Hot Yoga North Shore, Auckland

Q. First Timers Welcome -What do you need to know?

Putting your mat down is the first step to ensuring positive well being today & investing in your future health too. After all your health is your greatest asset!

You don’t have to be experienced to do Bikram Yoga or Hot Pilates. You just need to come with an open mind and expect to be challenged.

It’s normal, for some, to feel euphoric and energized after class but it’s even more normal to feel a bit knackered… at first. Don’t despair! You will feel better during class once you learn to manage the heat and breathe normally. The best way to do that is to come back tomorrow and try again, try your best, your best is always enough! In fact, to get the best results you should take as many classes as possible your 1st month. Our beginner’s packages make that easy for you. See our packages here!

Q. How Much is Enough?

A. No amount of yoga is too much and any amount of yoga will benefit you but for the absolute best results come at least 3-4 times a week or at least as often as you can.

1-2 classes a week & you will look and feel better.

3-4 classes a week & you will notice more rapid changes both inside & out.

5-6 classes a week & your life will change.

Every day and you will feel the heat less, improve faster, think clearer, breathe better, feel younger, be calmer & enjoy living!

Don't eat for at least 2 hours before class but make sure you are hydrated!

Your first class can be a little overwhelming, it does get better! Not everyone will instantly learn to love the heat but everyone will enjoy the warm glow of a balanced body and a calm, clear mind after class.
Notice how good you feel over the next 24 hours & come back for more tomorrow.
This is 90 minutes of physical exertion and first time learning- it’s supposed to be hard so be patient and keep at it.
Talk to your instructors and other students about your experience as you go, especially if you are working through old injuries or chronic conditions/disease.
Bring a yoga mat if you have one and a large bath towel to put on your mat during class.
Towels and mats both available for hire/purchase as well.
The heat facilitates the process by detoxifying the body and enabling a safer more intense stretch.
Dress for the heat and bring a change of clothes for the ride home. Showers available on site.
Drink plenty of water before and after class to keep you hydrated.
